Responsibilities and Services Provided
The Child Welfare Unit is responsible for the investigation and assessment of allegations of child abuse and neglect. This includes the provision of intake and ongoing services to families. In light of the demographics of Delta County, casework duties are general in nature, so that workers provide a very wide range of services. These services include Child Protection, Foster Care, Adolescent Services, Adoption Services, Substance Abuse Counseling, and Intensive Individual and Family Counseling (both in house and by contract), as well as Offense Specific treatment for adolescent sex offenders. Additional services, which can be provided, include a Day Treatment program in partnership with Delta County Joint School District 51, a Mentoring program for adolescents, and Intensive Home-based Intervention services.
