Changes Coming Soon to Delta County Floodplain Maps

New-Logo

Did you know Delta County Environmental Health is the place to go for "Floodplain Permits"?

Flood hazard areas of Delta County are subject to periodic flooding, which results in loss of life and property, health and safety hazards, disruption of commerce and governmental services, extraordinary public expenditures for flood protection and relief, and impairment of the tax base, all of which adversely affect the public health, safety, and general welfare. Delta County passed the Delta County Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance in 2013 to ensure that all regulations are followed when building in or around floodplains. Maps are always available on the Delta County GISwebsite.

In 2023, Delta County Floodplain maps will be revised and adopted as effective floodplain maps for all buildings and development. Visit this website for more information on the process. If you'd like to provide feedback, you can attend community meetings that will be held sometime this fall/winter. Watch for information in the newspaper and on our website.
